The O3Spaces Workplace Server requires a JRE 1.5 or newer to be correctly installed and configured on this machine b. The O3Spaces Workplace Server requires TCP ports 8095 and 8999 to be free. 2. Installation Instructions Install the '.rpm' package contained in the archive as follows: - Open a console window - Go to the directory where you unpacked the 'O3Spaces-CE-2.4.0p1-rpm.tgz' archive. - As 'root' enter: rpm -i o3spaces-server-2.4.0p1-1.i386.rpm - Press 'Enter' 3. License Agreement By installing the O3Spaces Workplace packages you agree to the O3Spaces End User License Agreement (EULA). Read this agreement carefully before installing the software. 4. Java Runtime Environment (JRE) The O3Spaces Workplace Server requires a Java Runtime Environment to be present on your computer. The version of this JRE should be 1.5.x or newer. Please verify you have a suitable JRE installed. Open a console window and type 'java -version'. If no compatible JRE is installed on your server you can obtain the latest version from http://java.sun.com. Note: Review the ReleaseNotes_O3Spaces-Workplace-CE_2.4.0p1.pdf document regarding the configuration of the Java plugin for Firefox browsers. 5. Workplace Server configuration a.Default IP By default the server IP is set to '0.0.0.0', with this value the Workplace Server will listen on all IP-addresses, responding to any incoming request on the configured port. You can also specify a specific IP-address or hostname (e.g.you machine IP/hostname). b.Server Port By default the server port is set to '8095'. c. Client access Any client machine can access the Workplace Server at: http://{machineIP}:8095/Spaces & http://{machineIP}:8095/Studio or http://localhost:8095/Spaces & http://localhost:8095/Studio 6. Starting and Stopping the Workplace Server The Workplace Server can be started with the following commands: - Start: /etc/init.d/o3spaces start - Stop: /etc/init.d/o3spaces stop Note: The 'o3spaces' startup script is not added to the rc.d levels. Therefore, on rebooting the machine the O3Spaces Workplace will not restart automatically. 7. Spaces & Studio Login After you install the workplace you can login with the following users Workplace Studio is only accessible as user 'supervisor' with pwd: 'supervisor' Workplace Spaces is accessible as user 'ron', 'amy', 'martin', 'george', 'nadine' all with pwd 'tester' or as user 'supervisor' with pwd: 'supervisor' Client access Any client machine can access the Workplace Server at: http://{machineIP}:8095/Spaces & http://{machineIP}:8095/Studio 8. Uninstall By removing the respective o3spaces packages the O3Spaces Workplace server can be effectively uninstalled To uninstall use (as root): rpm -e o3spaces-server 9.
